Haimo WGM utilizes gamma ray measurement technology to determine phase fraction and a venturi meter to determine the total flow rate. An installed source emits gamma rays which travel through the flowing materials in the measurement pipe, and a detector measures the amount of gamma rays passed through the flow. Gas and liquid fractions expressed in Gas Volume Fraction (GVF) are computed in real time through the combination of gamma ray attenuation equations, and a unity assumption of phase fractions. A Multivariable Transmitter (MVT) measures pressure, temperature and differential pressure of the venturi flow meter, from which total flow rate of the multiphase stream is determined. A Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) performs all calculations and converts flow measurements from line to standard condition. Unique redundancy design enables self-verification and improves reliability.
