Ceremony Marks Launch of Haimo Hi-Tech Industry Park

    A grand foundation stone laying ceremony was held on the morning of November 1st, 2013 in honor of the commencement of Haimo Hi-Tech Industry Park (also known as Phase I of Lanzhou New Area’s Science, Technology and Innovation Zone Project), which is situated in the High and New Tech Park, to the south of the New Area’s airport. The event was attended by over 300 people, including leaders and officials from relevant departments of Gansuprovincial andLanzhoumunicipal governments, those in charge of the New Area and the High andNewTechParkand people from the financial sector and the press.

    Phase I of the Science, Technology and Innovation Zone Project is to cover a total area of 440,000 square meters. Its floorage will be 600,000 square meters and it will require an investment worth 3 billion RMB as planned. Phase II will occupy a 990,000-square-meter area, in which 500,000-square-meter area will be needed for the development of its supporting industries. Upon its completion, this project will become a distinctive assembling place of technology and innovation, and its significant influences will be felt all overGansuand even throughout the entireWestern China. It will be an urban industrial complex where scientific research, incubation, technology transfer and industry cluster gather together and interact. By virtue of its concentrated innovation conditions, optimized economic benefit, favorable ecological environment and significant exemplary role, it will be a hotspot for innovating and starting businesses. Haimo Hi-Tech Industry Park, which is an essential part of Phase I of Lanzhou New Area’s Science, Technology and Innovation Zone Project, will cover an area of 139,300 square meters, and its floorage will be 100,000 square meters according to the plan. Its planned investment will be worth 300 million RMB and the construction of the project is scheduled to take 3 years. When completed, it will be a R&D and manufacturing center of multiphase metering (which enjoys important influences at home and abroad), shale oil and gas and fracturing equipment. Besides, it will be a training base, turning out qualified employees for oil fields. Haimo Hi-Tech Industry Park is bound to boost the industry of high-end oil and gas equipment in Gansu.
