The First Set of O&G Fracking Flowback Water Treatment System was on display at 2015 China (Xi'an) Environmental Protection Industry Exposition.

On November 20th, Lanzhou Haimo Technologies Co., LTD. debuted its O&G flowback water custom wellsite treatment trailers at the 2015 China (Xi'an) Environmental Protection Industry Exposition. The custom trailers are designed to treat flowback water at the wellsite and it is the first such system manufactured in China, its fresh and unique design attracted much attention from the attendees and was a highlight in the exposition.

In Recent years, with the development of low permeability reservoirs, Shale plays and CBM, fracturing has become the main technique to improve production, but it creates huge volume of flowbacks as production improves effectively. According to incomplete estimation, in the Ordos Basin, about 3 million m3 of fracturing fluid is pumped downhole each year, about 50% is flowed back. This fluid contains a lot of colloidal dispersion, chemicals, heavy metals and many harmful elements, it not only cannot be discharged directly and reused straightaway, but also creates water wastage and environmental hazards. Conventional treatment method is to truck the waste fluids to a central treatment station from well site, then inject it into the ground after treatment. This method is harmful to the environment, and quite costly to the operator.

Haimo Technologies addressed this issue at the source of the flowbacks,  aiming at treating and reusing the flowbacks at the well site. The company invested heavily on resources to analyze various fracturing fluids systems’ ingredients on treatment and reusability, researched and developed a lightweight, portable, customized trailer-mounted treatment system for use at the well site, and providing reusable water onsite.

In the third quarter of 2015, through equipment trials and field tests, the “Sea Lion” brand of flowbacks wellsite treatment custom trailer jointly developed by two wholly-owned subsidiaries of Haimo Technologies, Jie Chuang (Xi'an) Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Lanzhou Chenglin Oil Drilling Equipment Co., Ltd. came off the assembly line successfully. The system of flowbacks treatment trailers consists of a pre-treatment trailer and a final treatment trailer, the dimensions, roadworthy properties, operational modes of the trailers are all based on domestic oilfields’ rugged road conditions and actual wellsite conditions, completely meeting the requirements for spot treatment of fracturing fluid flowbacks and road conditions of the Chinese oilfield. During treatment, by utilizing conventional flocculation, sedimentation & fine processing technology and Haimo Technoogies'  proprietary pre-treatment & final-treatment, resulting in 15 minutes of fast sedimentation and 5 minutes of fine processing, and the treated water's quality meets the standard to mix for new batch of fracturing fluid.

This custom trailer manufactured by Haimo Technologies can reduce ground water pollution and soil pollution caused by oil and gas field fracturing operations, conserving water, conforms to the exposition's theme of "advocating green production and living, promoting and building a civilized ecology”. The popularization and application of the equipment effectively solves the spot treatment and reusability of the flowbacks issue, it also plays a powerful role as a catalyst for fracturing of low permeability reservoirs and oilfield environmental protection.
